"the wall street journal" reporting that she tried to stop the fbi investigation that she started. this is news that nbc has not yet confirmed, however, we have been able to confirm that kelley called police over the weekend claiming to be an honorary consul-general and citing diplomatic protection in an effort to get the media including nbc off of her property. >> i'm an honorary consul-general so i have inviolability so i should -- they should not be able to cross my property. i don't know if you want to get diplomatic protection involved, as well. >> video taken by nbc shows diplomatic plates on her car. south korean authorities say she is an honorary consul and the state department says it has no connection to kelley. >> i can assure you that she does not work for the state department and has no formal affiliation with the state dep
kelley of tampa florida, is telling associates that he received an e-mail traced back to paula broadwell, the petraeus biographer. the broadwell e-mail was written under the pseudonym kelley patrol. it described kelley as a, quote, is he duct tres, and warned the general of becoming involved with her. the journal reports that kelley tried to get the fbi to drop the investigation that began with kelley's complaint with harassing e-mails traced back to broadwell. people familiar with the case tell the journal that she became worried about personal information being provided to investigators. meanwhile, the washington post quotes senior law enforcement officials saying the search conducted at broadwell's home monday night marks an interest in how she became interested in classified files. kelley said she had state department status that owe sfigs alls say she did not have. news crews, including nbc, staked out her home. at one point she invoked diplomatic ivileges. >> i am an honorary consul general so i have inviolability. they shouldn't be able to get into my property. i don't know if you

paula broadwell, who remains at her brother's home in washington, d.c. he still has not commented on the case. there are new details to talk about. joining me is michael isikoff. what more have we learned about why kelley was concerned enough that the e-mails be forwarded to the fbi? >> we have learned a little bit more about the e-mails. remember, the first one actually goes to general allen in afghanistan from an e-mail account identified as kell kellkelly pat trt kelly patrol talking about his upcoming meeting with jill kelley in tampa. and what was most concerning about the e-mails, we're told from kelley's perspective is they seem to know the comings and goings of general allen, other generals at the u.s. central command and the special operations command, and in one case apparently cia director petraeus as well. there was an e-mail that went to her husband scott referring to a meeting. a social occasion with another four-star general that seems to be a reference to director petraeus. and at that point the cumulative total of the e-mails suggested somebody out there, and agai
-mails were allegedly linked to paula broadwell. broadwell was having an affair with petraeus and reportedly believed kelley was a romantic rival. the agency would not say what it was looking for, only that broadwell agreed to a search ahead of time. petraeus resigned friday when word of the affair became public. >> it's a tragic turn of events for someone who had contributed so much to this country. >> reporter: general allen is in washington, d.c. for senate confirmation hearings for his new job as head of the u.s. european command. however, president obama has now agreed to put the general's confirmation for that post on hold. secretary panetta issued a statement saying while this matter is under investigation and before the facts are determined, general allen will remain commander of the isaf. general allen denies he's done anything wrong. tara mergener for cbs news, washington. >> secretary panetta has already named general allen's replacement for afghanistan. the secretary would like the senate to confirm as quickly as possible. >>> closing arguments are set to begin today in the preli
